Wave gives victory salute

The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden went to Aidan O’Brien trained Wave who put her two previous outings to good use, winning under the trainer’s son Joseph O’Brien.

The daughter of Dansili raced prominently throughout and eventually battled well to hold the challenge of Hongkong Dancer

Afterwards O’Brien Jnr stated “Wave showed good speed all the way. She didn’t quite get home over 7f here that last day and the drop back in trip suited today.”

The win was jockey O’Brien’s 55th success of the season, continuing to set a modern day (since 1950) record of winners for an apprentice in Ireland.
