This year's third running of the Longines Irish Champions Weekend saw similar crowd figures to the two previous years.

Leopardstown's attendance was up on the two previous years with an official crowd figure of 14,550 at the Dublin venue yesterday compared to 13,780 (2015) and 13,190 (2014).

The Curragh which has had the worst of the weather for the second year in a row saw 9,255 through the gate this year compared to 10,384 (2015) and 10,978 (2014).

Punters took a hammering over the two days with only one successful favourite (Churchill 4/5) from the sixteen races run.

The big winner from the weekend was Tote Ireland which posted much improved aggregate figures on both days.

The combined Tote aggregates over the two meetings this year was €1,791,989 compared to €1,402,593 last year.

The wildly unexpected race results also provided the Tote with the added benefit of a series of Rollovers. The Placepot was only partially won at the Curragh while the Jackpot pool and a massive Pick 6 were also rolled over.

There is a Placepot Rollover of €6,447 to Listowel on Monday.

The Jackpot pool of €11,002 and Pick 6 pool of €432,400 will be held over until Gowran Park next Sunday 18th September.
