This weekends Trainer Quotes with AT THE RACES

SATURDAY

12.25 Newbury - GOLD AGAIN

Noel Chance said: 'Not only have I never trained a horse that has won a race so easily, I don't think I've ever seen one win so easily. He was at the furlong marker when the others were at the two. I know it was a bad race but Tom Doyle virtually pulled him up and he still won by 16 lengths. He jumps well and is a half brother to a decent horse in Ireland, Hi Cloy, but he's got to have a sound surface ? that's why he disappointed on his debut at Huntingdon. He'd stay two and a half but whether he develops into a horse for the big tracks I don't know.'

12.25 Newbury - WICHWAY NOW

Emma Lavelle said: 'He jumped beautifully at Exeter, but got tired and didn´t quite finish. There´s a lot more to come from him and, while he ran all right first time out, he will definitely do better as the season progresses. He shows a fair amount of speed at home, so we´ll be keeping him to two miles for the time being, and I could see him running very well on his next start.'

2.05 Newbury - TELEMOSS

Nicky Richards said: 'It was a lovely surprise to see this old fellw get his head in front, because I´d have been happy to take second or third before the Wetherby race. He has often pulled out a big race when he´s at his best but, although he was fit and ready to run, we weren´t quite expecting him to do as well as that... He was fourth in the Stayers´ in a year when it was a very good race and, while we can´t pretend he´s still improving at his age, he could still go to Cheltenham and shake a few of them up. I´m not dreaming that he´ll win it - my way is to keep my feet on the ground - but Baracouda´s not getting any younger either and I think this horse can still be competitive at the top level on his day.'

SUNDAY

1.30 Leicester - AUTUMN MIST

Peter Scudamore said: 'I thought it was a decent first effort at Towcester and I've put him in a classified chase over two and a half at Leicester on November 28 and he'll be spot on for that although he might be better over further. If he gets beaten the handicapper will have to drop him and he is the type of horse that is easy to place. He handles any ground.'
