Weld eyes July Cup for Mustajeeb Dermot Weld is proud of Mustajeeb's performance in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on Saturday. The four-year-old was joint-favourite for the six-furlong Group One and was beaten four lengths into fifth place by American challenger Undrafted. Weld feels his charge would have performed better on an easier surface and now has a range of options, including the July Cup at Newmarket, to consider. "I was delighted. We were racing on very fast ground. Mustajeeb is a very strong, powerful horse, but loves a bit of ease in the ground," the trainer said. "He ran a super race. There's nothing between the first five. "We'll look at the July Cup and I'll always be looking at races in France for him."
