Dermot Weld is eyeing a crack at Newmarket's Vision.ae Challenge Stakes with either Mustajeeb or Tested.

Mustajeeb, who won the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, finished second in the Boomerang Mile at Leopardstown over the weekend, while Tested claimed the Group Three Fairy Bridge Stakes by an impressive four lengths on her most recent outing at Tipperary.

Weld has now set his sights on the seven-furlong event, with his pair featuring among 39 entries for the Group Two on October 17.

He said: "Both Mustajeeb and Tested are potential Group One performers and one or the other will probably run in the Challenge Stakes.

"Newmarket's stiff seven furlongs should be ideal for either horse.

"Mustajeeb produced a very good run at Leopardstown on Saturday and I think that will turn out to be an excellent run as the third horse Gordon Lord Byron is a very good yardstick.

"Mustajeeb nearly broke the course record at Royal Ascot and it was always the intention to then give him a break and bring him back for an autumn campaign.

"Tested is in great form at the moment and we will definitely look at the Challenge Stakes for her."

The Weld pair are part of a six-strong Irish entry along with Aidan O'Brien's Darwin, the Jim Bolger pair of Leitir Mor and Tobann, the Tracey Collins-trained Majestic Queen and Eddie Lynam's Viztoria.

Last year's runner-up Amarillo heads a two-pronged German challenge with Mogadishio.

The home team features no less than five last-time-out Group winners - Breton Rock, Here Comes When, Captain Cat, Coulsty and Kiyoshi.

Three entries from France include Thawaany, runner-up in the Prix Maurice de Gheest on her latest outing.

Both Thawaany and Kiyoshi are also among 24 possible runners the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at HQ on October 4.
