Weld has five in Wokingham

Dermot Weld was responsible for five of the 110 entries revealed this morning for the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Final Exam (9st 11lb), Cool Clarity (9st 8lb), Steaming Home (9st 1lb), Agnetha (9st) and Candleriggs (8st 10lb) are the possibles from Rosewell House.

Aidan O`Brien has just one in the list, the four-year-old Juniper (9st 7lb), part-owned by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ellens Academy and Seven No Trumps, second and third behind Nice One Clare in the race last summer, are also in the six-furlong cavalry charge.

After only being beaten a neck when carrying 8st 11lb in 2001, the Eric Alston-trained Ellens Academy has been allotted 9st 2lb for the Stg£100,000 handicap this time.

And the Barry Hills-trained Seven No Trumps, a further two and a half lengths back in third, has 9st 6lb compared to 8st 8lb last year.

Heading the weights on 10st 2lb is John Cullinan`s popular sprinter Smokin Beau, a winner at Goodwood last week. He is followed by last year`s Tote Ayr Gold Cup hero Continent (9st 12lb), trained by David Nicholls.
