Well-backed Hi Corbett Court lands nursery Well backed throughout the day, the Paddy Twomey-trained Hi Corbett Court justified that support when easily landing the John Gilligan Memorial Nursery Handicap at Sligo. Sent off 10/11f (from 7/2), the handicap debutant tracked the leaders under Billy Lee for the first part of the six-furlong contest. Pushed along entering the straight, Hi Corbett Court led over a furlong out, drawing clear to win easily by three-and-a-half lengths. Paddy Twomey said: "He's a nice horse and did that well. "He ran well the first day (at Navan) and my horses were out of sorts when he ran at Curragh. I didn't run any two-year-olds for a couple of weeks after that. "Then he ran well over five (furlongs) in a well-contested race at Cork. We felt he fitted into this race nicely and he was better back up to six today. "If I'm allowed, I'd like to run him in a 0-80 nursery at the Curragh on the 16th, but we'll see what the handicapper does. "He's in the Goffs Million and the owners had a runner in it last year and enjoyed the whole experience, so I'd say that might be his ultimate target." (Quotes by Mark Nunan).
