The Jim Bolger trained Luceita put in a smart performance to take the Kildare Brewing Company @Lock 13 Brewpub Maiden on debut.

The daughter of Dawn Approach is a half-sister to Lucida who won at Group 2 level, and went down by just three parts of a length in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket in 2015.

Sent off at 7/1, the chestnut victor was soon toward the head of affairs under Kevin Manning, and was ridden with just under two furlongs to race.

She got to the front inside the final 200 yards, and kept on well from there to score by a length and a half. Rue D'Antibes (33/1) came through to take second under Conor Hoban for John Murphy, while the 5/2 favourite Prepare For Battle was a short head back in third.

Bolger said afterwards: "She was held up with fairly minor issues and hopefully they are all behind her now. She was going away at the finish with her ears pricked and was doing nothing.

"We'll see how she comes out of this, and I'd say she could go anything up to a mile and a quarter. She could possibly stay in training next year."
