Western Cowboy made it a short-priced double at Limerick for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore in the featured Connolly’s RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle and completed a memorable day for the Knockeen trainer who also added the Group 3 Coral Henry II Stakes at Sandown with Lismore.

Western Cowboy and Mars Harper were in the air together at the final two flights, with the evens favourite getting on top in the final 100 yards as his rival drifted right.

A length and three quarters separated the pair at the line, with Highlander Casseul eight lengths back in third.

De Bromhead and Blackmore earlier successfully teamed up with Schone Aussicht (8/13) at Limerick, while Lismore took the Sandown staying event at odds of 14/1.

Blackmore said, "He had two lovely runs and didn't seem to mind that ground.

"He was leaning out a little bit but the nicer ground was out there so I wasn't overly worried and it has been a great day for the yard with Lismore also winning in England."
