Wexford duo set for Thyestes raid

Paul Nolan is expecting a decent show from Adams Island in the Goffs Thyestes Handicap Chase at Gowran Park on Thursday.

The eight-year-old warmed up for this valuable contest by running a highly-creditable third of 25 in a three-mile handicap hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas behind Jetson.

That was his third race since joining the County Wexford stable from Rebecca Curtis' Newport yard last summer.

"He ran a good race in Leopardstown, he ran to his mark," said Nolan.

"He probably hasn't got much in hand regards his mark because it's based on him being second to Captain Chris at Kempton last winter.

"Hopefully, he'll run a nice race."

Meanwhile Colm Murphy reports Glam Gerry be on course for the race following his success in a handicap chase at Leopardstown last month.

"He came out of Leopardstown really well. He's got a hike in the weights which will anchor him a bit, but he seems well," the County Wexford trainer told At The Races.
