Sean Corby drove Whats The Plot home in Wexford as the four-year-old gelding brought up plenty of bets.

Arthur Moore 's charge was popular before racing as his price contracted to 11/4 from 5/1. The gamble continued at the track as he was returned the 9/4 favourite in this apprentice handicap.

He raced in mid-division as In The House led from Dew Line and Pincode Corby nudged him along to get closer approaching the two pole and the pair got a lovely run round on the rail before mounting their challenge approaching the final furlong.

The gaps opened as Whats The Plot got on terms inside the last furlong. He was ridden to lead but Bridal Path (8/1) strongly pressed him in the closing stages before giving best by a neck in a driving finish.

Pincode at 7/1 took third, a further two and a quarter lengths away.

“He's tough — a cracking fun horse,” said the trainer's son JD Moore.

“He'll probably go hurdling later in the summer.”
