Where Eagles Dare was well-backed on debut when third at Navan last month, and showed that confidence wasn’t misplaced when taking the Book Online At www.limerickraces.ie For April 21st Flat Race in impressive fashion.

The Mahler gelding cruised into contention in the straight, and Mark O’Hare hardly moved a muscle as the 2/1 chance struck the front.

The Noel Meade-trained five-year-old kept on strongly without being asked a question to beat the 13/8 favourite Vent d’Automne by a facile six lengths. The Big Lense kept on into third a further length and a quarter back.

O'Hare said, "He travelled well the whole way and when i gave him a squeeze turning in, he came alive.

"That's my second ride and second winner for Noel. I rode a winner for him at Cork over Easter (Impatient Partner) and a day earlier had my first ride for him when finishing fourth in a point to point."
