John Murphy's White Birch is set to travel over to Britain for the Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dante Stakes next week.

The Ulysses colt won a Dundalk maiden by over six lengths last November and coped well with the step up to Group 3 company by landing the Ballysax Stakes over 1m2f at Leopardstown last month.

Murphy's son and assistant, George Murphy, said: “He’s in super form and will probably go to York next week for the Dante.

“Originally we thought of going for the Derby Trial in Leopardstown but then decided to run at a different track to give the horse a new experience and to see how he would handle the travel as well.

“It’s a fairly serious trial which will let you know where you are going.”

White Birch holds entries in the Derby, the St James's Palace Stakes and the King Edward VII Stakes.
