Will The Wise could be Troytown bound after novice win Gavin Cromwell nominated the Troytown Chase as a possible target for Will The Wise after making all for a convincing victory in the 2m2f SANSERV Rated Novice Chase at Galway. The six-year-old was headed close home by Ol Man Dingle over course and distance earlier this month and Keith Donoghue ensured this was more of a stamina test when stretching the field from an early stage. The evens favourite put in a generally solid round of jumping although he was far from fluent at the final two fences in the dip. However, Donoghue oozed confidence on the long run-in, and his mount came home a comfortable two and three-quarter lengths clear of Prends Garde A Toi with Waterford Whispers a further two and a half lengths back in third. Cromwell said, “Keith turned it into a good test, and he kept it simple. He made a few novicey mistakes, but he probably learned from that. "It is grand to gain compensation for his defeat here the last day. "We'll be keeping an eye on all the handicaps in the autumn and all being well he could take on something like the Troytown next."
