William Muir forced to look elsewhere with Breacher Breacher will wait for other targets after being forced to miss the Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury due to an unsatisfactory blood test. While William Muir, who trains the colt in partnership with Chris Grassick, is adamant it is not a serious problem, he is taking it safe with the son of Cracksman, who he hopes can take the place of former yard stalwart Pyledriver. Races like the Solario Stakes at Sandown and Haydock’s Ascendant Stakes – which Muir won with Pyledriver – are now under consideration. “It hit me between the eyes this morning, but I took his bloods and it returned a poor blood count and my vet said not to run,” said Muir. “There doesn’t look to be anything wrong with him, but I’ve been advised not to run and I’ve got to treat him like a good horse so I’ve got to take my medicine and go from there. “If his blood is wrong there’s something not quite right, but he isn’t showing it, he was bucking and squealing coming home this morning. “There are three races coming up and I’ve had a quick look in the book. There’s the Solario at Sandown on the 29th and then there’s two very early on next month, the Ascendant we won with Pyledriver at Haydock and the Flying Scotsman at Doncaster. “We will just do what’s right, I can’t believe it’s anything serious, we just have to take notice of it.”
