Ms Willpower was friendless in the market for the Race And Stay Rated Race at Naas but belied her 40/1 starting price to make a winning return.

The Paul Flynn-trained filly had been a cosy winner on her only previous outing, at Dundalk last August, but was a big drifter on her comeback having been a 5/1 shot in the morning.

She was prominent throughout under Dylan Browne McMonagle and hit the front over a furlong from home.

The daughter of Inns Of Court was nicely on top in the closing stages, holding the late charge of Fregada by half-a-length.

Flynn said:- “She’s the best I’ve ever had. We had her sold to go to America last year but there were complications with a vet over there.

“She beats Little Queenie out of the way. I thought there was something wrong with Little Queenie and then she went and won!

“She’s green as well. If she gets sold then well and good and if not we’ll have to look at black type races. I’ve never had to look at those races before!”
