Wings Pleases In Spencer Gallop

Flashy Wings teamed up with her new jockey Jamie Spencer on a visit to Newbury yesterday morning for an exercise which delighted the filly's trainer Mick Channon.

Channon was keen for his Queen Mary and Lowther Stakes winner to see a racecourse before the Stan James 1000 Guineas on May 7, for which she is 6-1 second-favourite with the sponsors.

'She worked with two stablemates and just breezed along and Jamie was very pleased with her,' said the West Ilsley trainer.

'Everything is on song as far as the Guineas is concerned but I do wish the weather would warm up. It really is unbelievable how cold it's been.'
