Tip Of The Wings proved too strong for hotpot Arslan in the second of the maiden hurdles at Limerick this afternoon.

Tip Of The Wings Secures Commanding Maiden Hurdle Victory

Jack Kennedy made all on the Gigginstown gelding and he had the 1/6 favourite off the bridle turning for home in the race, run over just shy of two miles.

Tip Of The Wings got in tight at the second-last but galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post an 11-length success at odds of 10/3.

The Gordon Elliott-trained winner had cost £95,000 after taking a point-to-point last March and was making his third start for the Cullentra handler.

Jack Kennedy Praises Performance and Future Potential

Kennedy said:- "I thought his run in Leopardstown (finished sixth) was promising enough and good enough to win this and he did it well. He went away through the ground not a bother.

"He jumped well, was good and he could be a nice horse. Hopefully he will go forward and, on nicer ground, he might have to go out in trip.

"That ground is as tough as it gets, some handle it and others don't."
