Owner Graham Wylie is hoping Briar Hill can continue to improve after making a perfect start over hurdles at Wexford last Tuesday.

The five-year-old, winner of last season's Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, ran out an 11-length victor in the hands of Ruby Walsh on his first try over obstacles.

Wylie told At The Races: "Willie (Mullins, trainer) said he was jumping well at home.

"It was the first time ever I got nervous because of reputation, but he jumped magnificently.

"Ruby said he'd be better going left-handed so that's the bonus as well.

"Hopefully he'll progress and go on to bigger and better things."
