Yarmouth a wash-out

Heavy overnight rain has put paid to today`s Flat meeting at Yarmouth.

The fixture was called off early this morning as the track was found to be unfit for racing. Clerk of the course David Henson said: 'We have had to abandon.

'We had 19mm of rain between 8.00 last night and 6.45 this morning. There is water lying at the three-furlong marker, it is raining now and there is more rain forecast.

'We had no chance.'

Overnight rain has changed the going at several of today`s other meetings but none is reportedly in danger of abandonment.
