Zoffany beaten in France Mutual Trust won a thrilling Prix Jean Prat from the Aidan O'Brien trained Zoffany in second. Andre Fabre's son of Cacique made a challenge to long-time leader Strong Suit turning in as the sprint for home began but he took a long time to overhaul Richard Hannon's charge. Eventually he poked his head in front with 10 yards to run and record a nose success under Maxime Guyon, and extend his unbeaten run to four. After a lengthy photo finish second place went to Aidan O'Brien's St James's Palace Stakes runner-up Zoffany who would possibly have won had he not hung in behind the leaders when Ryan Moore tried to make his challenge in the final two furlongs. Richard Hughes set out to make all the running on Jersey Stakes winner Strong Suit and was only overhauled in the dying strides having been allowed an uncontested lead.
