'A Significant Danger' - Three Tips For The Curragh On Thursday There are only three meetings left to take place at the Curragh this year, but there remains plenty of key Flat action here to relish before the season comes to an end. We have picked out three runners at the Curragh on Thursday. Acclamatic - Curragh, Thursday 1.15 Joseph O’Brien bids to train the winner of this maiden for the second year in a row, and despite training four of the 17 runners, he the choice of stable jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle that is the preference. Acclamatic has the most experience in the line-up, with three runs so far, and has placed three times. His last start was a real eye-catcher as he finished second to a stablemate at Tipperary. He finished six lengths ahead of the third. The ground that day was heavy, and given his pedigree, by Acclamation, he should appreciate returning to today’s sounder surface. Improvement should come today, and he should be able to break his maiden tag here on the fourth time of asking. In My Teens - Curragh, Thursday 3.35 It may be the start of the jumps season in Britain and Ireland, but that shouldn’t stop the most prolific jumps owner, J P McManus, from getting another winner on the flat. He has an excellent chance here with In My Teens, who looks like a filly with great potential. She won two starts ago in emphatic fashion by six lengths at Down Royal. That form has substance, as three horses that finished behind that day have won since. On her next start at Roscommon, it looked like a question of how far she’d win by, with a furlong to go. But she was badly bumped inside the final furlong, to finish just a neck behind in second. The pair were well clear of the field that day. Dylan Browne McMonagle takes the ride for the first time, and she should prove very hard to beat here. Brains- Curragh, Thursday 5.20 Since leaving Britain in 2023, there's been a significant improvement in Brains, and he has developed into a major player in competitive handicaps in Ireland. His best race in Ireland was when he won a fiercely competitive handicap at Leopardstown in March. After being well-supported in the market opening up at 11/1 and then being backed to be the 4-1 favourite. He was always prominent that day and extended inside the final furlong to score comfortably. A similar tactic here would see him go well, as he will be able to get the near-side rail due to his high draw, a tactic utilised by last year's winner, Purring Along. Brains has been steadily improving in his last three runs, placing twice. Donohoe's gelding could be primed for this today, and he is definitely a significant danger.
