With Saturday’s Lincoln meeting at Doncaster heralding the return of turf racing on the Flat in the UK, BoyleSports is offering all Irish customers the chance to Bet €10 and Get €50 in free bets + money back as a free bet if you finish 2nd to the SP favourite at Doncaster.

Finding winners at this time of the year can be a tricky task and it is therefore worth siding with trainers who typically have their horses forward for the opening spring contests.

Betting Expert’s Stephen Harris recommends following Alice Haynes, Karl Burke and Simon and Ed Crisford, trainers who tend to have their representatives fully fit and ready to go.

1:20 DONCASTER Doncaster Mile Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 1m HOLLOWAY BOY

Karl Burke’s useful performer proved hard to train last turf season, only making it to the track on two occasions (running a cracker when fourth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot in June). He retains all of his ability, and this mile on soft ground would be his optimum on his seasonal reappearance after 9 months off.

2:25 DONCASTER Spring Mile Handicap Cl2 (4yo+) 1m - MAYSONG

Fitness may count for plenty as the turf season gets underway, and Alice Haynes 7-y-o comes into this on the back of two cracking efforts in defeat on the all-weather. Christian Howarth is booked for the ride, and he is very much a young claimer to follow over the next few months as the turf season gets underway.

3:00 DONCASTER Cammidge Trophy Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 (3yo+) 6f - MARSHMAN

Karl Burke’s sprinter found life tough last backend in warm company, but he has been found a terrific opening here first time up and seems sure to be primed by his excellent connections (with the yard in red hot form/3winners/11runners in the last fortnight).

3:35 DONCASTER Lincoln (Heritage Handicap) Cl2 (4yo+) 1m - AWAAL

Simon and Ed Crisford’s classy handicapper often attracted hefty market interest last season without delivering for punters, but he is definitely well capable of going close from this sort of mark and seems sure to be primed first time up for this prestigious prize. Harry Davies is booked for the ride, and he will be looking to weave his way through late and fast off what seems sure to be a very strong gallop.
