Acapulco all set for King's Stand American filly Acapulco is set to run solely in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot next week. Trainer Wesley Ward had not ruled out a potential double raid in Tuesday's big sprint over five furlongs and the six-furlong Commonwealth Cup on Friday. But the three-year-old's Coolmore owners have other options for the race later in the week. Ward told www.atheraces.com: "Five-eighths (five furlongs) is her game, she just won a nice race at Churchill. "We were favourite in either race but we would have been a much bigger favourite in the Commonwealth." The daughter of Scat Daddy won the Queen Mary Stakes at the Royal meeting 12 months ago, after which she finished second in the Nunthorpe at York. Ward expects Ryan Moore to ride Acapulco at Ascot.
