The Liverpool FC Foundation Scurry Handicap is the big handicap on a cracking nine-race Irish Oaks card on Saturday, and the 100,000 euro contest has attracted a field of 21.

Ado McGuinness sent out Go Atletico to win the long-established and prestigious sprint last year, and the eight-year-old bids for a repeat success as one of three runners for the Lusk trainer.

Go Atletico (Nathan Crosse), second at the Curragh on Derby weekend, runs from 3lb out of the handicap and has been drawn in the far side in stall 1, while City House (Ronan Whelan), a dual winner in Bahrain last year for George Scott but yet to win since joining McGuinness, will come from the near-side draw in 21.

Third in the Rockingham Stakes over five furlongs on Derby weekend after a profitable campaign in Britain earlier in the year, Dark Ace (Adam Caffrey) is likely to be the shortest-priced of the stable's runners and will be towards the head of the market.

The Soldier's Call four-year-old has been handed gate 10, so McGuinness has all angles covered on the draw front and he summed up his chances as follows:

“I’m looking forward to Dark Ace, he should have a big chance.

“Go Athletico won it last year and City House has been knocking on the door, so we’ve three good bullets to fire.

“Go Athletico is on a good mark (effectively 5lb lower than last year). He’s a few pounds out of the handicap, but I do think he’ll run a big race.”
