Successful earlier on in the evening, Henry De Bromhead and Darragh O'Keeffe completed doubles as Adaliz ran out a gallant winner of the Cappawhite CE Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary.

The five-year-old mare, who opened her account at Clonmel in April, had previously given the impression that she was suited to a test of stamina.

Stepped up to just short of three miles for the first time in her career, the daughter of Waldpark led early in the straight before keeping on strongly from the second last.

Strongly pressed by both Midnight Fairy and Emily In Paris on the run to the final flight, Adaliz asserted on the run-in to win by three lengths.

Owners Syndicates Racing were out in force to welcome back in their winner.

Darragh O’Keeffe said: “Mikey O’Connor, who had ridden a winner on her and was third on her the last day but was suspended today, was confident that she would stay.

“She jumped well, picked up well and galloped all the way to the line.

“She loves good ground and is taking her racing well. Hopefully she can go forward again.”
