Adelaide remains in contention for the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 25.

Ballydoyle's Secretariat Stakes winner is one of 100 horses still in the frame for the Australasian weight-for-age championship following the release of the first acceptances.

Trainer Aidan O'Brien has never had a runner in the Cox Plate but was quick to nominate Adelaide for the race following his impressive triumph at Arlington Park on August 16.

The Galileo colt could be joined in the line-up by stablemate Magician, who was runner-up in the Arlington Million on the same card as the Secretariat.

Trading Leather, trained by Jim Bolger and now owned by Godolphin, is also still in the hat for the Cox Plate.

Thirteen European challengers, including the talented British duo of Side Glance, Trade Storm and Just The Judge, have been accepted for the mile-and-a-quarter Group One.
