Alamshar Sold To Japan Multiple Group 1 winner Alamshar has been sold by His Highness The Aga Khan to the Japan Racing Association who will retire him to stud.Alamshar has been one of the stars or Irish racing this season winning the King George, Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and the Irish Derby.Trained on the Curragh by John Oxx and ridden by Johnny Murtagh, he is the only horse to have beaten Sunday's Arc winner Dalakhani.Alamshar disappointed on his last outing in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown last month when finishing fourth behind High Chaparral. However, he may make one final appearance before attending to his stud duties in the Champion Stakes at Newmarket on 18 October.John Oxx said: 'He´s in super form at the moment, we had him ready to run in the Arc as a stand-by, and if he stays like that he´ll run in the Champion Stakes,' he said.'There´s no other race on the agenda for him. He´s not running in the Breeders´ Cup and there were complications about the Canadian International because of his export then to Japan.'The Champion Stakes wasn´t our first choice, it´s a bit short for him, but it´s there and I´m sure he´ll put up a good run in it.'Oxx was philosophical about the loss of his stable star.'That´s the way it goes. We can´t expect to have these horses forever, they have to go on to another career,' he said.
