Albertas Run retired Dual Ryanair Chase winner Albertas Run has been retired at the age of 12. Trained by Jonjo O'Neill and owned by Trevor Hemmings, the dark-coloured gelding earned over £900,000 in prize money as a winner of 15 of his 36 starts. Aside from his Cheltenham Festival victories over two and a half miles in 2010 and 2011, Albertas Run finished second in the same race last year, landed an RSA and a Melling Chase and was second to Kauto Star in the 2008 King George. He had his first and only start of the season in the Ryanair once again, but was pulled up. Mick Meagher, Hemmings' racing manager, tweeted: "Super horse officially retired today...great servant #AlbertasRun."
