All Happiness at Donacaster

Sir Michael Stoute`s King Of Happiness impressed on his racecourse debut in the EBF Unison The Trade Union In Front Maiden Stakes at Doncaster today and he is a potential star in the making.

He was given a lovely introduction by Fergal Lynch who sent him into the lead just inside the final furlong and he stretched away to beat Mount Joy by one and a quarter lengths.

The American-bred colt, sent off at 7-2, holds some fancy entries including the Group One Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on October 20 and the Group One Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster a week later.

Lynch, who, incidentally, rode Golan to victory on his debut as a two-year-old, was delighted with King Of Happiness` performance and said: 'He gave me the feel of a very good horse and he will go from strength to strength.

'He certainly knew his job, as usual with Sir Michael`s juveniles, he travelled well and picked up well when I asked him and I could not have been more pleased with him.'

Henry Cecil`s Harry Jake finished only third, but the Newmarket trainer was on the mark half an hour later, but with the `wrong one` as the Tony McGlone- ridden Anniversary, an 11-1 chance, took the spoils in the Union In Front Is Unison Maiden Fillies` Stakes.
