For the first time in six years, Irish racing fans can take part in the Tote Ten To Follow competition. There is a minimum of €150,000 to play for and the aim is simple, just pick ten horses that you think will win races in the season ahead and full information can be found on tote.ie.

The ten to follow competition is open for entries until Saturday morning and Co.Kildare based Grand National winning trainer Martin Brassil spoke about one of his previous Cheltenham festival winners, City Island, who he is set to campaign over the smaller obstacles this season.

”City Island had a setback when he was out for his summer break. He's back in work and we're hoping to get him out around Christmas or just after with a view to going back for the Stayers Hurdle," said Brassil.

"He's fine, he's in good shape. He's a spring or a good ground horse so you wouldn't be giving him too much hardship in real heavy ground because he's proven that the better the ground the better he is.

"He's a lovely character, a lovely enthusiastic horse. He loves his daily routine and work.

"If you were going away on holidays he's a fella you want to bring with ya anyway because he's steady away.

"You'd never worry about him doing anything silly. He just does what he has to do."
