All systems go for Listowel

The Listowel Festival is set to begin, as scheduled, on Sunday September 13, following an inspection at the Co Kerry track at 2pm today.

The track had been waterlogged prior to the recent dry spell but Listowel Race Committee member Pat Healy today stated “we are delighted with the track at the moment and hopefully the ground will be riding better than soft by Sunday. We anticipate no problems and the feature event, as ever, is the €160,000 Guinness Kerry National on Wednesday.”

Horse Racing Ireland has announced that Monday’s and Tuesday’s existing races at Listowel will be switched to form an all National Hunt fixture on Monday 14th September and an all Flat fixture on Tuesday 15th September.
