American jockey found dead Michael Baze was found dead in his car in the car park at Churchill Downs racecourse on Tuesday evening. The 24-year-old is from a high profile family of jockeys including Hall Of Fame rider Russell Baze who was a cousin of his father. Michael Baze had ridden 34 winners this year from 238 mounts. Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Jim Wesley said the initial post-mortem found no anatomical cause of death. Results of toxicology tests to determine whether or not drugs or alcohol contributed to Baze's death won't be available for about three weeks. Baze was due to appear at a preliminary court hearing on a charge of possession of cocaine today.
