Amicitia ploughed her own furrow up the stand’s side to run out a convincing winner of the five furlong handicap at Navan.

Ben Coen had the 3/1 favourite to the fore throughout from a wide stall and the Inns Of Court filly stuck on well in the closing stages to record a two-and-a-quarter length victory over Nouvel Espoir

The winner had been collared in the closing stages at the Curragh a week ago and Murtagh said:-

"She pinged the gates last week and she just got caught late on. Five back here was made for her - she had run well here earlier in the year.

"She's getting quicker with a bit of racing.

"As Ben says, the biggest part of her is her heart. She tries very hard and she is game, and it is just lovely to get a winner.

"We'll see what The handicapper does and we will keep her going. She's a sprinter that seems to be improving.

"She ran well enough in Dundalk as a two-year-old, so maybe she would be one for there.

"Today was the day."
