ANDREW THORNTON SIDELINED Andrew Thornton will miss his rides today as he recovers from a heavy fall at Fakenham on Monday.And the jockey, who is due to be in action at Newcastle tomorrow, is not sure if he will be able to return to the saddle before the Christmas break.Thornton received a kick to his back when his mount Anamore fell at the second flight of a novice hurdle, bringing down Alpheus.Thornton, who gave up the remainder of his rides at the Norfolk track, said today: 'I`m a bit sore, I got kicked in the back and in the ribs and I`m not riding today.'I`m going to have some physio and take it from there.'I`ll see what the physio says but it could have been worse.'Thornton is hoping to recover for the busy holiday period where he is in line to partner Champion Hurdle runner-up Hors La Loi III, a disappointment in the Bula Hurdle at Cheltenham last time, in the Pertemps Christmas Hurdle at Kempton a week tomorrow.'Hors La Loi III is probably going to run in the Christmas Hurdle,' Thornton said.'Everything seems all right with him but we`ll play it by ear.'
