Another US Target for Salford Gordon Elliott's smart seven year-old Salford City will now remain in America for the New York Turf Writers Chase in two weeks' time having come out of his prep race very well. Salford City, who finished fifth in the 2004 Epsom Derby, was a creditable third in the A.P Smithwick Memorial Chase over two miles at Saratoga last week under Paul Carberry. Elliott said: "We were very happy with his run last week and he'll be much better off at the weights in the next race. He's come out of the race great and he's had an easy week so now we'll train him for the New York Turf Writers Chase in a fortnight." He added: "He loved the ground out there and jumped really well so it's all systems go and we'll be hoping for another really good run from him."
