ANZUM TO TRY AGAIN NEXT WEEK

Anzum looks set to make his reappearance at Cheltenham next Saturday.

The 1999 Stayers` Hurdle winner has had his return to action delayed because of the spate of abandonment`s this season, the latest coming with the loss of tomorrow`s meeting at Haydock Park.

Although the Tote Credit Club Premier Hurdle has been rescheduled for Doncaster a week tomorrow, the 10-year-old is more likely to run in the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham the same day.

His trainer Richard Phillips said today: 'He`ll be entered for Doncaster but we`d have to have a lot of rain.

'I thought it was firm enough for him at the last meeting and I would suspect he might go for the Cleeve Hurdle.'

The gelding has not run since finishing third behind Behrajan at Haydock 12 months ago.

'The two miles five at Cheltenham might be a bit too short for him but we need to get a run into him,' Phillips added.

'He`s fine but he`s going to be a bit ring-rusty.

'We want to run him somewhere but meetings keep getting abandoned.'
