Connections of Larchmont Lad have lodged an appeal against the decision to demote him in the Knockaire Stakes at Leopardstown on October 28th.

David O'Meara's charge finished first past the post in the Listed contest at the Dublin venue but was placed second after veering right in the closing stages.

The stewards on the day felt the winner had caused enough intimidation of the runner-up Making Light to effect the result and reversed the placings.

No date has yet been set for the hearing.

In other appeals news Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy have both appealed the penalties handed out by the Down Royal stewards after the running of Suitor on Saturday.

Elliott was handed a €2,000 fine and Kennedy banned for five days after the gelding finished third in the Tayto Group Maiden Hurdle.

The pair were found guilty under Rule 212 A (ii) which states:- “Horses shall not be run in races where they are in a condition which would preclude their chances of winning nor shall they be run for the purpose of giving them a school.”

There is no date set for that appeal either.
