Arctic Steps caused a 66/1 upset to land Down Royal’s opening BoyleSports Money Back If 2nd To SP Fav Handicap today, scoring for owner Anderson Correa De Oliveira, trainer Jennifer Lynch and jockey Rory Cleary.

The daughter of Footstepsinthesand had shown form in a Gowran maiden in April before disappointing at Naas on May 10 but today quickened well to lead narrowly between horses inside the final furlong, to score by a neck from Billie Be Quick .

Cleary commented "he jumped fairly smart and followed a strong gallop early on. She followed them really well and it opened up for her after the road. She stayed at it well to the line.

"She travelled really well and once it all opened up for her, she went through it really well and it was nice.

"Hopefully she can build on that, she was off a nice mark today and in that grade of race she is okay."
