Art Is Newmarket Possible

Excellent Art is set to run in next month's TNT July Stakes at Newmarket after connections decided to bypass a Royal Ascot tilt.

Trainer Neville Callaghan has not ruled out taking the unbeaten colt to the Curragh for the Railway Stakes on July 2 but he is tempted by the Newmarket event.

Although an absentee in the Coventry Stakes, Callaghan reported the Pivotal colt to be in fine fettle after his nine-length romp in the National Stakes at Sandown last time.

Callaghan said: 'Ascot has never been an especially lucky place for me and there was always the chance of him getting mixed up in the hurly burly of the Coventry and having a tough race.

'We've decided to wait for the Railway Stakes or the July Stake and that one (July Stakes) suits us better as it is on our doorstep.'
