Arvika out for the season

Arvika Ligeonniere, one of the brightest young chasing prospects in Willie Mullins powerful yard, will be sidelined for the season after suffering a setback.

Mullins revealed the news to the Irish Racing Post saying, “I brought Arvika Ligeonniere away recently and schooled him and he worked well. But over the following few days I wasn't happy with him and, simply, he got jarred.”

He added, “There dosen't look to be any long term damage and he's a huge, big young horse. We have the time to give him time and let's hope he comes back 100 per cent because I hope he's a horse with a big future.”

The five-year-old French import only weakened in the closing stages when fourth to Berties Dream in the three miles Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham last March before recording an impressive success when dropped back in trip at the Punchestown Festival.
