Ascot An Option For Luckless Ouija

Connections of Ouija Board have not ruled out supplementing her for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes after the mare's unlucky-in-running fifth in the Coral-Eclipse.

Christophe Soumillon ? her eighth different jockey ? found himself repeatedly boxed in two furlongs out at Sandown on Saturday but finished with a real flourish once he found daylight.

However, the race was lost a long time before that as David Junior reversed the Prince of Wales's Stakes form to win with three lengths in hand of his former conqueror.

The five-year-old daughter of Cape Cross came out of the Eclipse generally unscathed, however, and may now be considered for the King George at Ascot on July 19 as she seeks a sixth victory at the highest level.

'She's a little bit bruised and sore but she's fine after the race,' said Peter Stanley, racing manager to Ouija Board's owner Lord Derby.

'We'll see how she is in the next week or 10 days and see where we go after that.

'It (the King George) is a possibility but there are other races around.

'She's had three runs in quite quick succession but we'll keep an eye on the King George field and see how she comes out of the Eclipse.

'At this stage, I wouldn't rule it in and I wouldn't rule it out.'
