ATR to be made available in Mainland China in broadband streaming agreement with Mainland China's Race Club

At The Races, the UK and Ireland's largest and most widely distributed dedicated horse racing channel, today confirmed that it has reached an agreement with the Shanghai Race Club ("SRC") to add live horse racing as a feature on paoma.com - an online platform developed by SRC for racehorse owners and aspiring racehorse owners in Mainland China.

The new feature, due to launch in early March, will be available on a free to register subscription basis to residents of Mainland China and has been developed in partnership with one of Mainland China's leading video platforms. The content has been tailored by ATR for the Chinese market as a live sports channel with all betting references removed. SRC will pay ATR a content licensing fee in relation to the rights.

The Shanghai Race Club, first established in 1862, is a private club for Mainland China's new and existing racehorse owners. The Club's services and technology make it simpler for people in Mainland China to try, buy and manage a racehorse based in Great Britain or Ireland.

"With this new live racing service racehorse owners in Mainland China can watch and really feel the excitement as their horses compete at racecourses in Great Britain and Ireland against owners from around the world", said Byron Constable, Shanghai Race Club Chairman.

A delegation of senior representatives from British horse racing is currently visiting China and from there Lord Michael Howard, leader of the delegation and Chairman of Arena Racing Company, a major shareholder in ATR, said "We have greatly enjoyed meeting representatives from China's equestrian industry and have been particularly impressed with the Shanghai Race Club's plans to promote the sport of horse racing and racehorse ownership to a large audience of aspiring owners."

Matthew Imi, Chief Executive, At The Races, said "We are delighted to be working with The Shanghai Race Club and its members to make racing from the UK and Ireland available on the paoma.com platform and look forward to promoting with them the considerable attractions of racehorse ownership."

Harry Herbert, Managing Director, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, said "Highclere Thoroughbred Racing has established a good working relationship with Shanghai Race Club over the years and I am delighted that ATR have signed a deal with them. As Shanghai Race Club members now follow our Highclere horses this will enable them to actually see them race which is fantastic and it will open the door to many more Chinese becoming involved in our sport."
