Attrition's King George run ground dependant War Of Attrition is to be confirmed for the Stan James King George VI Chase following Mouse Morris' inspection of the track on Monday. The 2006 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero has delighted Morris since returning from a two-year absence in October and the trainer has the option of sending him to either Kempton for their Boxing Day showpiece or Leopardstown for the Lexus Chase on December 28. Morris travelled to Kempton on Monday and after walking the track confirmed that he would give the King George, a race which is likely to feature Kauto Star, serious consideration. "He seems in good form with himself at home and has been fine since Punchestown [when third in the John Durkan Memorial Chase]," said Morris. "I walked Kempton this morning and the ground is goodish so he will definitely be confirmed for the race. "The ground is the key to him and we'll just see which way the weather goes before deciding where to go." War Of Attrition won his first two starts this season and was far from disgraced when third at Punchestown last week. However, he has yet to be tested beyond two and a half miles since suffering a tendon injury and remains an outsider for the Grade 1 contest.
