Aussie Ace Added To Lockinge Field Elvstroem, winner of the Dubai Duty Free at Nad Al Sheba in March, has been supplemented at a cost of £16,000 for the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on Saturday. The Australian star was added to the field for the Group One contest over a mile along with Gerard Butler´s Tarfah, leaving a total of 15 remaining in the race following today´s five-day confirmation stage. Aidan O´Brien has left in Breeders´ Cup Mile runner-up Antonius Pius, while the Michael Jarvis-trained Rakti has also stood his ground in company with Luca Cumani´s Le Vie Dei Colori. Sir Michael Stoute has the choice of running Arakan or Chic, while Godolphin have Byron and Grand Emporium engaged, with Babodana a possible for Mark Tompkins. Pastoral Pursuits, Autumn Glory, Brunel, Hurricane Alan and Mac Love complete the field. Despite supplementing recent Newmarket scorer Tarfah, Butler has taken out Sussex Stakes runner-up Nayyir, while David Elsworth has withdrawn last year´s third Norse Dancer. Another to miss the race is Soviet Song, who failed to please trainer James Fanshawe earlier today. 'We scoped Soviet Song this morning and she scoped dirty, so we are not leaving her in the Lockinge,' he said. 'It is disappointing, but apart from that she seems in good form. 'We will have to play it by ear regarding what we do next, but if she scopes clean by then we should have her ready for the Ridgewood Pearl in Ireland a week later.' Elvstroem is being housed at Geoff Wragg´s Newmarket stables. 'He arrived yesterday morning and is being stabled in my yearling yard,' said Wragg, who intends to be represented himself by Autumn Glory. 'Autumn Glory seems fine,' added Wragg of the five-year-old, who followed up his success in the Doncaster Mile by finishing second in a Group Two at Saint-Cloud on May 1. ? PA Sport
