Avenue out to make amends Fozzy Stack is at a loss to explain what happened to Clancy Avenue at Haydock but hopes he can bounce back to his best in the €100,000 Paddy Power Sprint at the Curragh on Saturday. Having finished second in a big sales race at Newmarket, Clancy Avenue ran no sort of a race on Merseyside and as a result will wear a hood for the first time. However, Stack, assistant trainer to his father, Tommy, feels he faces a tough task this weekend against the likes of Reply, Bubbly Bellini and Gabriel's Lad. "I don't know what happened at Haydock, whatever it was nothing has shown up," said Stack. "Maybe he didn't get much cover and ran too free so we'll see how we get on this weekend. "It will be tough mind, he's only three taking on hardened sprinters. "He just wasn't happy at Haydock so we've put a hood on and see what happens." One of 10 British raiders in the race is the Elaine Burke-trained Yeeoow, last of 11 at Ripon previously but a winner at Ascot before that. "I'm looking forward to Yeeoow in the Paddy Power Sprint - he hated the track at Ripon and put a vertebra out when we were trying to get a penalty for the Wokingham Stakes," said Burke's husband and assistant, Karl. "He's in great form now and did a good piece of work last Friday when he worked very well. The ground should be perfect for him, a stiff six furlongs is ideal and I think that he has a big chance."
