Ayr goes ahead after inspection cancelled This afternoon's meeting at Ayr will go ahead as planned after a scheduled 7.30am inspection was cancelled. Clerk of the course Emma Marley was out on the track shortly after 6am and after less than expected rain fell overnight she was able to give the meeting the green light over an hour before the stated inspection was due. Marley wrote on twitter: "RACING ON - HEAVY - Inspection cancelled @ayrracecourse lucky to only get 3.5 mm of rain in past 24hrs. Dry day forecast." The first of seven races is at 12.20pm. Larne handler Stuart Crawford, who saddled a double at Musselburgh yesterday has four runners on the card today. This afternoon's National Hunt meeting at Huntingdon will also go ahead as planned.
