This afternoon's meeting at Ayr has survived an inspection and goes ahead as scheduled.

Course officials required an assessment of conditions at 0700 BST this morning due to the threat of further rain.

But with no overnight rain having fallen, clerk of the course Emma Marley was able to give the fixture the thumbs-up.

She tweeted: "Racing goes ahead today. Five millimetres of rain up to 1pm yesterday, then dry. Forecast showers today."

The going is officially soft, heavy in places.

Carbury handler Willie Murphy has two runners at the Scottish track.

Kieran Fallon rides Musical Express for him in the 4.00pm while he also runs Ros Cuire in the 5.00pm.
