Dynamite Dixie and Hail looked to have the Summer Festival Series at Leopardstown (C & G) Maiden to themselves at the quarter mile pole but the pair had done a lot of running to get clear of the rest. Azamata proved to be the strongest finisher under a determined Declan McDonogh and he got up to nail Dynamite Dixie by a neck.

A nicely backed favourite, Azamata (9/4 this morning into 7/4) was pushed along from half a mile out but as he showed as a juvenile this Azamour colt is all about staying. He only hit top gear inside the last and got up close home.

Kevin Prendergast trains Azamata and he said: "He might make a good staying horse as he keeps at it. The ground there was probably a bit faster than he'd like but he got away with it.

"He was pretty straight and next time he'll run over a mile and a half. He could come back for one of the trials here. He did that well." (GC & EM)
