Baby Run set for Aintree

Baby Run is on course for the John Smith Fox Hunters' Chase at Aintree on Thursday following his victory at the Cheltenham Festival.

The 10-year-old is one of 27 entries for the amateur's Grand National as he bids to join the elite band of horses to have also won the Christie's Foxhunter Chase in the same season.

Double winners include the likes of Spartan Missile (1979), Rolls Rambler (1980), Grittar (1981) and Double Silk (1993).

"We are very excited about it. That is the natural progression after winning the first one," trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies told At The Races.

"I don't know if there will be any better horses in the race, maybe there will, but they've got him to beat anyway."

Baby Run is the mount of the trainer's son Sam Twiston-Davies, who was in the saddle at Cheltenham.

Among other entries are last year's first and second Trust Fund and Christy Beamish.

Blu Teen, Having A Cut, Joaaci, Moncadou, Nedzer's Return, Sonevafushi, Van Ness and Whizzaar.
